She Brews Brewing and Consulting is a value-driven craft beer company based in Kingston, Ontario. Sam Brown, owner and consultant of She Brews, is looking to support her local beer loving community in the many ways she is able. Sam, and She Brews, believes strongly that while the craft beer scene in Ontario occupies a small total of beer sales, there is something magical, irreplaceable and valuable that it creates and shares.

She Brews believes you don’t just drink craft beer in Ontario, you experience it!

at home

Sam has become very creative in her beer recipes, and while the larger scale brewing systems require patience with these regards, the pilot system she works on has no limits for her inspirations.
Sam's most memorable batches she has developed was her Oatmeal Stout, her French Saison, her ESB recipe, and oh so many more are to follow.

Sam is excited about the new recipes she has created and ready to brew!

Stone City
Brew Co.

Stone City Brew Co. saw all that Sam had to offer and gave her the outlet she needed to create and flourish.
In the short time at Stone City, Sam assisted with the Emily Saison and the Zero Degrees Brut IPA recipe. This lead to her release in May 2022 of Mush Love; a Sahti inspired beer with Chaga mushroom and juniper additions.

Inspiring gruit ales

Sam misses this beer immensely; her Rosemary and Thyme Gruit Ale, made while working with Bread Free Brewery.
This particular beer, Sam spent time hand selecting and gathering the herbs she wanted, from her supportive beer family and friends gardens.

The beer ended up being released and pairing amazingly with Thanksgiving dinner that year.

First "big" brew

Up until this point, Sam was working on smaller brew systems and was more of a hand then brewer. Publican House Brewing system was something else.

While no original recipe was developed here, confidence on different brew systems was.

sam's First beer

Sam's first commercially sold beer was her cask adventure and experiment. It was a Camomile Hibiscus Wheat Cask, released at the Old Stone Brewery with Head Brewer Aaron O'neill, in Peterborough, ON.

It is safe to say that this experiment would be perpetuated throughout Sam's style of beers continuing forward in her career.

She Brews loves supporting local in many ways. One of those ways is being conscious of product selections.

She Brews enjoys and hopes to continue working with these local product providers:

  •    Wolfe Island Hopyard - providing local Kirin, Crystal, Magnum, & Columbia hop varieties.

  •    Barn Owl Malt - located in Belleville, ON, providing a local and artisanal product for breweries and brewers to consider.

  •    Escarpment Labs - A local connection for unique yeast strains, in a variety of forms. A great source for experimenting and unique beers; made available for the home brewer to the much larger production setting.
